Egypt, Tailored for You.
Embark on our inaugural grand journeys
Egypt’s most celebrated sights, each explored in a single, beautifully paced private day. Your own Egyptologist and driver, a vehicle waiting at your door, and a day arranged to the highest standard, so you see the monuments that matter most and come back to your hotel having truly understood them.

25 years of expertise, tailored into your perfect journey.
Some places deserve a whole day. The Giza plateau at the right hour, the temples of Karnak with someone who can read the walls, Abu Simbel rising out of the Nubian landscape: these are not sights to be ticked off between a late breakfast and an early dinner.
Our Signature Day Tours are built on that idea. Each one is a single day, designed around a single place or theme, and delivered privately from start to finish. Your driver collects you from your hotel, your Egyptologist guide stays with you all day, and the order of the day is planned around light, heat, and crowds, so the great sites are experienced at their best rather than their busiest.
You have worked hard to be here, and we believe a day in Egypt should feel like a reward. A good guide does more than recite dates. A good guide changes the way you see what is in front of you, so you leave knowing more and feeling differently about the oldest chapters of human history. Browse the day tours below, then read the guide that follows. It explains how to choose the right day, how a typical day unfolds, and how to combine several days into a longer journey.
Your own Egyptologist. A licensed guide with deep knowledge of the history, who tells it well and at the level you want, whether you are a first-time visitor, a keen reader of history, or travelling with children.
Collected from your hotel. A private, air-conditioned vehicle and a driver who knows the roads, the timing and the best places to stop.
A day paced around you. Linger where something captures you and move on where it doesn’t. There is no group to wait for and no set schedule to keep up with.
Planned around the crowds and the heat. We sequence each day around opening times, temperatures and busy periods, so you see more with less discomfort.
Entrance tickets and logistics handled. Entrance fees, parking, transfers between sites and a carefully chosen lunch are arranged in advance, so you spend the day looking at Egypt rather than organising it.
Built for you. Interests, mobility, stamina, children’s ages and dietary needs are built into the day from the beginning.
Begin with the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx, then add the Grand Egyptian Museum on a second day. These two days give you the essential story from the beginning.
Pair the Grand Egyptian Museum with a day at Saqqara and Memphis, where you can trace the development of the pyramids from the earliest stepped structure to the Giza plateau.
Spend a day in Luxor, with Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings and the West Bank, ideally on a day of their own.
Abu Simbel is among Egypt’s most remarkable sights. It is far to the south, so we plan the day carefully around early starts and travel time.
Spend a day in Islamic and Coptic Cairo, with its old streets, markets, mosques and churches, and finish with a long Egyptian lunch.
Alexandria, on the Mediterranean, offers Greco-Roman, Islamic and modern history in one seafront city, and makes a rewarding day from Cairo.
Tell us ages and mobility, and we will shape a day with shorter walks, built-in breaks and the most engaging stops.
The home of the Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum, and the natural place to begin. A day here can focus on Giza alone, on the museum, on Saqqara and Memphis, or on the old quarters of Islamic and Coptic Cairo. [Link to Cairo & Giza Tours category.]
Luxor is often called the world’s greatest open-air museum. East Bank days focus on Karnak and Luxor Temple, West Bank days on the Valley of the Kings and the great mortuary temples. Day tours from Luxor can also reach sites such as Dendera and Abydos. [Link to Luxor & Upper Egypt category.]
A gentler, more scenic city on the Nile, with Philae Temple, the Nubian villages and the landscape of the First Cataract. Abu Simbel is a separate and longer day, further south. [Link to Aswan & Nubia Tours category.]
A full day from Cairo, taking in the best of Alexandria’s ancient and Islamic heritage and finishing with fresh seafood on the coast. [Link to Alexandria & Mediterranean Coast category.]
The start. Your driver collects you from your hotel at an agreed time, often early, so that you reach the great sites before the day’s heat and crowds.
The morning. Your Egyptologist takes you through the main site while you are fresh. This is when the light is best, and the walking is most comfortable, so we plan the most important stops here.
Lunch. A relaxed meal at a restaurant chosen for quality and comfort, not for convenience to a coach party. Dietary needs are arranged in advance.
The afternoon. A slower pace, often a second site or a quieter experience, such as a market, a workshop or a viewpoint.
The return. A comfortable drive back to your hotel, with time to rest before the evening.
Every day is adjusted to the destination, the season, and your own pace. This is a typical shape, not a fixed timetable.
October to April is the most comfortable for sightseeing, especially in Upper Egypt. In the hotter months, we start earlier and build in a cool break at midday, which is particularly important in Luxor and Aswan.
It depends on the day. Giza and Luxor days often start early to make the most of the cooler hours and quieter sites, while Cairo city days can begin later. Abu Simbel is the earliest and longest of all.
For a first visit to Egypt, a minimum of three well-chosen days gives you the essentials. Many guests choose to alternate busy touring days with free days to rest, which is usually the better rhythm.
Light, breathable clothing, comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and a hat. Some sites ask for modest dress, so shoulders and knees covered is a good rule. A small bag, a refillable water bottle, and a camera are all you need. We carry cold water in the vehicle.
Rules on photography vary by site and may change, and some areas charge for camera use or restrict flash. Your guide will explain the rules on the day.
Lunch is part of the day. Let us know about vegetarian, halal, gluten-free or allergy needs in advance.
Tell us about ages, mobility and stamina, and we will adjust the pace, the stops and the amount of walking.
Entrance fees can be included in your day tour, and we arrange them in advance. Each proposal lists exactly what is included.
Entry requirements depend on your nationality and change from time to time. Please check the current rules with the official Egyptian authorities or your embassy before booking.
Many guests begin with a single day and decide they want more. Several Signature Day Tours can be linked into a longer stay, with hotels, internal flights and your own guide arranged throughout. A few days in Cairo and Giza, a flight to Luxor and a Nile cruise to Aswan is a classic combination. [Link to Grand Journeys category.]
If you are arriving on a cruise ship, a private shore excursion may be a better fit.

It varies by destination. Many days run for six to nine hours, and some, such as Abu Simbel, are considerably longer. Each tour page gives the expected duration.
Yes. Every tour on this page is a starting point, and we can adjust the stops, the pace and the starting time.
Sometimes. Distances and opening hours matter, and a crowded day is rarely a good one. We will tell you honestly what is realistic.

Yes, with the right pacing. Tell us ages and mobility in advance.
We adjust the schedule, starting earlier and building in cooler breaks. In the hottest months, we often recommend morning-only touring for the most demanding sites.
As early as you can, especially in the busy season from October to April. Last-minute requests are sometimes possible, so ask us.
You have earned a day that is looked after from the first minute to the last. Tell us where you would like to go and when, and we will build a day around you, led by an Egyptologist who will change the way you see what is in front of you.
