Egypt is one of the few destinations that suits a honeymoon and a family holiday equally well, though the two trips are very different. A honeymoon calls for privacy, beauty, slow mornings, and moments you will talk about for decades. A family journey calls for flexibility, curiosity, and a pace that works for a seven-year-old and a seventy-year-old at once.
At Egypttoura, every journey is private and built around the people travelling. You will never be placed in a group or rushed through a checklist. Your own Egyptologist guide and driver travel with you, your hotels are chosen for your style and your needs, and every day is planned so the extraordinary parts of Egypt feel effortless rather than exhausting.
Browse the journeys below, then read the guide further down the page. It covers how to choose between a honeymoon and a family itinerary, when to go, how long to stay, and what to expect on the ground. Every journey can be adjusted, so treat these as starting points.
Your own guide, your own pace. A licensed Egyptologist travels with you throughout. For couples, that means the freedom to linger or skip. For families, it means explanations pitched at the right level for children and adults alike.
Skip the crowds where it matters. Our itineraries are sequenced around opening times, heat and crowd patterns, so you visit the great sites at their best moments rather than at their busiest.
One point of contact, start to finish. Hotels, transfers, internal flights, Nile cruise, guides and entrance fees are arranged and managed by us, so you are never left to solve logistics on holiday.
Designed around real people. Dietary needs, mobility, children’s ages, surprise celebrations, and the things you want to avoid are all built into the plan.
Flexible by design. Every journey on this page can be lengthened, shortened, or combined with other destinations and extensions.
Egypt’s romance lies in its contrasts: a temple lit gold at dawn, a quiet sunset on the Nile, a candlelit dinner within sight of ancient monuments. Our honeymoon journeys are paced to leave room for rest as well as discovery.

Children often remember Egypt more vividly than almost any other holiday, because mummies, pyramids, camels and boats feel like a story come alive. The key is pacing and presentation, and we plan both with that in mind.
How we shape a family journey:
Good to know: We recommend discussing your children’s ages with us at the planning stage. A journey for toddlers and one for teenagers look quite different, and the details matter.

Not sure which fits? Many travellers combine them, such as a multigenerational trip with a celebratory element, or a family holiday that includes one romantic evening for the parents. Tell us what you have in mind, and we will shape it.
Cairo & Giza. The Pyramids, the Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum area, Islamic Cairo, and the Grand Egyptian Museum make this the natural starting point for any first visit. [Link to Cairo destination page.]
Luxor. Often called the world’s greatest open-air museum: Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut’s Temple, plus hot air balloon flights. [Link to Luxor page.]
Aswan & Abu Simbel. A gentler, more scenic city on the Nile, with Philae Temple, Nubian villages and the great temples of Abu Simbel to the south. [Link to Aswan page.]
The Nile Cruise. A relaxed way to see Upper Egypt, combining travel and accommodation in one. Ideal for both couples and families who want to unpack once. [Link to Nile cruise Tours.]
Red Sea (Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Sharm El Sheikh). Beach and snorkelling time to round off a cultural trip. [Link to Red Sea page.]
Alexandria & Siwa. For travellers returning to Egypt or wanting something beyond the classics: Mediterranean heritage in Alexandria, desert quiet in Siwa. [Link to destination pages.]
The most comfortable months for sightseeing are generally October to April, when days are warm to mild, especially in Upper Egypt. Summer is very hot, particularly in Luxor and Aswan, though early starts, midday rest, and Red Sea or Alexandria stays make it workable, particularly for families tied to school holidays. If you are travelling at that time, we will adapt the schedule accordingly.
Journeys typically combine private air-conditioned vehicles, internal flights between Cairo and Upper Egypt, and the Nile cruise itself. All transfers are arranged and managed for you.
We choose hotels and cruise ships based on your tastes, budget range, and needs, and focus on comfort, location, and service rather than a name alone.
Egyptian food is varied, generous and often family-friendly. We are glad to arrange vegetarian, halal, gluten-free, allergy-aware or child-friendly meals. Just let us know in advance.
Travel in Egypt with a private guide and driver is straightforward, and our team handles the practical side. We recommend light, breathable clothing, sun protection, comfortable walking shoes and a refillable water bottle. For up-to-date travel health advice and any vaccinations, please check with your doctor or your country’s travel health service before departure.
Entry requirements depend on your nationality and change from time to time. Please check the current rules with the official Egyptian authorities or your embassy before booking. We are happy to point you in the right direction.
Let us know ages, naps, allergies and any special equipment you need, such as car seats. We will plan around them from the start.
If you are travelling as newlyweds, mention it when you enquire. Many hotels and cruise ships are glad to add small touches when they know in advance.
